Fix Coloured Spinning Ball
The spinning ball, spinning beach ball, spinning beach ball of death (SBOD) or “spinning wait cursor” is the bane of every Mac user’s life. It has an uncanny ability to appear just when you’re just going out the door or have an urgent deadline to meet. It usually appears when an app is not responding and sometimes the only way to stop it is to use the Force Quit command. Go to the Apple menu (upper left-hand side of screen) > Force Quit > select problematic application. If you’re using a recent Apple operating system such as Mojave 10.14 and your machine is using a rotating disk (HDD) the problem can be fixed by moving to an SSD disk.
